koeman has said that he wanted to take bolasie to southampton when he was there. i would imagine everton can offer much better wages than palace and that's why bolasie wanted to leave.

has the smell of agent all over it. pardew said numerous times that he didn't want or need to sell him yet he's still moved on. in the long run palace have had a major result

i dont think clubs spend 25m on a player 'for the sake of it' mate. odd thing to say!

Trevor B 4:57 Mon Aug 15
Re: Everton Sign Bolasie
yes you could, but at the time it was more about the wages and a long contract for a player unproven in the league, especially when we were targeting payet at the same time. a season later and ayew's stock has risen and the board are now happy to pay the wages and the transfer fee as he is a player bilic now rates highly. as you say though and as Om said earlier, fees are just silly these days and with so much money to spend clubs can afford to pay way over the odds to get the player they want, if they feel money is no object.

Takashi Miike 4:54 Mon Aug 15
Re: Everton Sign Bolasie
I know that. my point is they have players already at the club who I think are as good and there are free transfers about as good if you put the ground work in and scout properly. laying out £25m for me is a lazy buy, one for the sake of it :.)

Re: Everton Sign Bolasie
indeed B son, and you can say signing ayew for 20mil a year after he was signed for free is a weird one. Hard to read much into the fees, everyone has so much money it kind of doesnt matter. I think he will struggle there though tbh for some reason.

to be fair ANY signing is very expensive when you are comparing them to a free transfer........

Re: Everton Sign Bolasie
Palace have a far more consistent player in Townsend. He will be good probably 3 in 5 while Bolasie is a 1 in 5 man.

Time will tell if Koeman can get the undoubted talent out of him on a consistent basis

Re: Everton Sign Bolasie
he's no better than lennon or mirallas. very expensive signing, especially in comparison to feghouli

Bolasie isn't very good

and people think we have had a poor transfer window?!

feghouli, i feel is better, ayew definitely so. havent seen enough of tore though, plus both he and feghouli and yet to be proven in the PL. but im sure they will both do well.

Re: Everton Sign Bolasie
We signed Ayew, Tore and Feghouli for £24m, and I think all three are better players.

DoF. Theer was a great article a little while ago about how they go about recruitment, and not just players, but managers too, so they know they can continue to run the club the way they want to without the manager wanting too much control over their transfer policy.

Re: Everton Sign Bolasie
be interesting to see if Koeman can replicate his success in the transfer market at Everton.
Southampton appear to have a very good set-up for replacing sold players with like for like quality. Was it Koeman or was it the board/DoF??

Re: Everton Sign Bolasie
For some reason I thought he was more prolific than his 13 goals over the 4 season he's been at Palace.

Huge gamble. Paid probably £10m - £15m over what I think he's worth.

I make you right about the fees and that this is a threat to us. Under a good manager, Bolasie will thrive.

Palace have made out like bandits!!

Plus they already have Townsend in place, great bit of business!

i think he will surprise a few people, he deffo has the talent.

pards is talking about getting 2 strikers so maybe we can offer him a deal on sakho/enner.
